Spiritual health is a very important aspect of our lives. Be it religion, spirituality, meditation, or even taking a walk in the woods, it all falls into the category of spiritual health.
Regardless of your belief system around it, it’s important to take the time out of what is referred to as the “rat race.” In other words, the day-to-day grind of work and other responsibilities…to just sit in the silence and be in the now.
Some suggestions that take just a few minutes whether you are at work or home are:
– Close your eyes for 5 minutes and focus on each inhale and exhale of your breath. This puts you in the “now” rather than some other moment.
– Take a short walk and be. Truly be in that moment whether it’s listening to the birds, the sound of the wind, or even counting the steps you take. BE in that moment.
– Prayer/Meditation. Sit in the silence or depending on your belief system, pray to a higher being. You’ll find both your stress levels and blood pressure will decrease.
– Nutrition. Eat a healthy snack of fruit or nuts. This will energize you and can truly make you feel better.
